How Technology Affects Our Everday Of Life

Mostly every day teens and adults use a lot of technology. The average teen is on the computer and the average adult daily uses the cellphone.By using a lot of media, does it affect our personality or does it cost us to waste time? This is the question that I need to answer. I think that technology does affect people because if you constantly use technology, you can get addicted. In my point of view, I don't use that much technology everyday so I don't know how weird things can happen to you. So technically, I don't have any experience using a lot of technology every day. My answers about technology was solved when I looked at this website http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/06/11/in-defense-of-computers-the-internet-and-our-brains/?ref=technology. After reading this article,I learned that using the Internet can make you stupid. I'm not surprised that staying in front of a screen most of day can make you stupid. This can happen if you stay on the the computer and play games all the time. I wouldn't stay on the computer all the time because I will not enjoy it. I can understand if you're staying on the computer for a while but staying on the computer for more than five hours is just wasting time. Also, the article that I read states that some people think that staying on the computer for a long time is fine. The only reason why they can stay on the computer for a long time is because they are really enjoying it. If you don't want these symptoms to happen to you, you should take my advice. Don't stay on the computer for a long time because the only thing you will be doing is ruining your life. From:Kameron Daniel

SIckle Cell Disease

Sickle Cell disease or Sickle Cell Anemia is described as red blood cells that restrict blood flow to an organ. Sickles look like a stiff shape or like sea shells. These cells don’t last very long. They last between 10 to 20 days. The people who have this disease are usually born with the disease. The normal red blood cells are disc shaped and look like doughnuts without holes in the center. They move easily through your blood vessels. The sickle cells are sticky and get stuck in your blood vessels. The sickle cells contain abnormal hemoglobin. This disease can cause pain, organ damage and an early death. Some patients say that it feels like a baseball bat hitting you repeatedly. This disease occurs when you have less blood cells that the average human body. The symptoms of the disease are back pain, foot swelling, joint pain, hand swelling and breathlessness. If an infant gets the disease, it may have come from complications, Thalassemia and Isoveric academia. You can get infected by the disease by a mosquito. If the mosquito drank the blood from some one that has sickle cell and the same mosquito drank your blood, you can get the disease known as Malaria. Malaria infects the red blood cells. Malaria mostly occurs in the continent known as Africa. This disease is a horrible disease that mostly occurs in Africa. Most likely sickle cell disease affects the DNA so badly all kinds of horrible things can happen in the human body. For example, your skin can get horrible scars. When doctors have a slide of the DNA of a person that has sickle cell disease mostly white blood cells will occur than red blood cells. There are no known cure for this disease some people may get bone marrow transplants. The symptoms are different with each individual. Some people have long term pain or fatigue while other people have do have bad symptoms. Also sickle cell disease
occurs because of a chemical mutation.

The Beat Street Assignment

The story Beat Street was done in 1984. It is a story about two brothers and their friends who like break dancing and graffiti. They live in the South Bronx, New York City.
The names of the brothers are Kenny and his younger brother Lee. Kenny is a dj and his younger brother Lee likes to break dance. Lee and his friends had a break dance battle with another group and a girl name Tracy , a music student liked Lee’s break dancing. She tells Lee about an audition for a television show. Lee dances but found out that he will not be on television. Kenny yells at Tracy, the music student when she went to visit Lee at his house. She heard Kenny’s music and she liked it. Kenny and Tracy found that they had something in common and they started talking.
Later on, Kenny is a dj at a club called Burning Spear and the crowd loved his music. After the performance, Kenny is invited to a club called the Roxy. They were having auditions for new talent and he tried to get his material ready for the show.
Kenny went out with his friend Ramon who likes to draw graffiti on the subway walls. They found a clear wall to draw, when they saw another graffiti artist called Spit. Spit was a graffiti artist that spray painted on others graffiti designs. Spit and Ramon started fighting in the subway and they both rolled on the third rail of the subway. They were electrified and died.
At the end, when Kenny had to do his show at the Roxy, he used slides of Ramon’s art work in the background while he was rapping to his music. He dedicated his show to Ramon. I felt that this film was great because it showed how life was in the 1980’s. I also think that this film became popular because it had fun moments. It also had sad moments.
